Joseph F. Griffies


Joseph F. Griffies is a Vietnam Veteran, serving with the US Army from 1967 to 1968. He was in the 4th Division Infantry.

Since his service, Joseph has dedicated his life to helping his fellow Veterans. He currently serves as the Director of Veteran Affairs at WIBG Radio 101.3 FM and 1020 AM. He is also the host of the Military themed radio show, “Welcome Home Show.” His other affiliations include; VFW member, American Legion member, Knights of Columbus member, Army National Guard Association member, Jewish War Veterans of Margate member, Middle Township Veterans Advisory Board to the Mayor, Chapel of the Four Chaplains National Board of Directors, West Point Society of Philadelphia member, Veterans Parade Committee member, CVAC of Cape May County, Veterans Advisory Board of The Michael J Crescenz VA Hospital in Philadelphia, POW/MIA Memorial for the Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund committee and the Medal of Honor recipient Herschel “Woody” Williams Gold Star Families Memorial Project board member.

Though these roles and associations Joe has accomplished numerous milestones for Veterans. Notably, he worked to save Veteran lives by working with the VA’s Suicide Hotline for a faster response. He continues to advocate for better care for Veterans on a daily basis.

Joseph says, “Until we eliminate homelessness for our Veterans and our Veterans committing suicide – our job is far from over.”
